Oat apple crumble

Last weekend, we traveled to Sweden for a big family reunion, and while we were there, we noticed how much the Swedes really love their fika moments. They enjoy having cake and coffee even at ten in the morning. Fika is a lovely time when everyone gathers to indulge in sweet pastries and coffee. On our last day in Sweden, we got to taste a delicious apple pie, and we fell in love with it right away. We asked them for the recipe, and they gave us permission to share it with all of you!

Recipe

250 g butter
1 dl syrup
4 dl oats
3 dl flour
1 dl sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 dl cream

Mix the ingredients into a smooth batter and spread it over lightly cooked apple wedges.

When cooking the apple wedges, remember to do so over medium heat and add the juice of 1/2 lemon and 3 tbsp of raw sugar.

Put in the oven at 175 degrees for 25 min or until golden brown.

Tip: Preferably use tart apples for the wedges, as the pie already contains a lot of sugar. If you only have very sweet apples, reduce the amount of sugar in the pie to suit your taste.
