Recipe
4-5 firm apples
1.5 dl of sugar
1 dl of water
90 g of butter
2 sheets of puff pastry
Peel and slice the apples in half, removing the seeds. Take a 28 cm carbon steel pan, sprinkle sugar evenly over the bottom, and drizzle with water. Heat over medium heat until the mixture bubbles and turns light brown, about 5–7 minutes. Add the butter and stir gently until melted. Add the apples and cook, stirring every few minutes, until the caramel is deep brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and arrange the apples curved side down in the pan. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into a 28 cm circle. Place the puff pastry over the apples and press down the edges.
Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the puff pastry is beautifully golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Carefully invert onto a serving tray. Enjoy warm!
Tip: Serve with vanilla ice cream!
Hope you have lovely autumnal moments!
