Steel is a very popular material in kitchenware for many reasons. Steel is durable and non-toxic. Steel is an inert material, meaning it doesn’t react with other materials, so it is very safe to use. Steel is also super easy to clean and doesn’t scratch easily. When it comes to stainless steel, there are different kinds of mixtures that are being used, but most high-quality stainless steel kitchenware will have an “18/10” marking. This means that the mixture has 18% chrome and 10% nickel. Steel interested? Keep on reading!
What you may not have known, is that a steel pan is an ecological choice. A steel pan conducts heat more efficiently than a regular coated pan, meaning you can use less heat to cook with it, meaning you save energy. The steel cookware in our selection is suitable on all stoves, including gas, grill, or even a fireplace. With proper use and maintenance, a steel pan is pretty much everlasting – which makes it the perfect ecological choice for any kitchen!
A steel pan might require some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it will be one of your favorite kitchen items! Read more tips on how to use a steel pan here. Click here for video instructions on how to clean your steel pan.
However, it’s good to keep in mind that steel kitchenware varies quite a bit in its quality, especially in cookware. High-quality and durable frying pans have multiple plies in their structure. Multi-ply pans are more expensive to manufacture, but they have great heat conduction and the multiple plies make the pan practically eternal. For these reasons, HEIROL steel pans are popular amongst professionals as well – there are plenty of restaurants that you might see using a HEIROL pan to cook your food.
HEIROL steel pans are either 3- or 5-ply structured. There is either one aluminum layer between two steel layers or two aluminum layers between three steel layers. The aluminum is what increases our steel pans heat conduction efficiency and prevents the pans from bending. Psst! Take a look at the handles on our pans. We have paid extra attention to them to make them hygienic and sturdy in use. The handles are completely closed and riveted on, so they won’t heat up, even on a gas stove.
The MVP of our frying pans, the HEIROL Steelsafe is a 3-ply pan with an aluminum heart, and a coating on the frying surface which is protected by a patented steel honeycomb structure – Steelsafe is the hybrid of steel and coated pans, making the pan extremely durable and easy to use!
The HEIROL Allsafe can handle the usage of even the roughest cook. The energy-efficient 5-ply structure is an excellent heat conductor throughout the pan, so it uses less energy to heat up than other pans. If you’re looking for something to hand down generations, the Allsafe is up to the task.
The Steely Classic is a 3-ply pan with one aluminum layer – a durable pan with great heat conduction, the name of the pan says it all.
Even the HEIROL mini-series pots and pans have a thick 3-ply structure!
