A country dream

When I was a child, we visited Finland every year. It was wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of Rome to the peaceful and clean nature of Finland. My godmother's cottage is in Taivassalo and we spent last weekend there. I enjoyed the time spent outdoors immensely and after a bit of chasing around I even dared to swim in the sea! (Anyone who knows me knows that I am terrified of fish and plants!)

We ate salmon smoked by my godfather and tasty vegetables from their own vegetable garden. Oh how wonderful it is to enjoy fresh produce from your own land! One day I'll start growing my own vegetables at home too, it's a dream of mine! I've already got a good start, as I've got two tomato trees to take home!

Our lovely Labradoodle Ebba loves to run free and after an evening of running, swimming and taking a sauna (yes, she came up to the top of the sauna herself!) she was very tired and fell asleep straight away. I have to say, it was the same for us! Yes, after sauna, swimming, good food and endless laughter, you do sleep well!
